Are Gluten-Free Toasters Toast? A Look at Research on Gluten Cross-Contact in Shared Kitchens and Schools
Class Overview
If you have celiac disease, the motto has always been "get everything new and don't share" in the kitchen. But new research is taking a hard look at common kitchen practices and activities in schools and providing real data on the risk of gluten cross-contact from sharing toasters, pots/pans, utensils, and using common school supplies that contain gluten. This presentation will review the data and explain how celiac experts are recommending using the findings in everyday life.
