Hodo is an award-winning plant-based protein company, crafting sought-after tofu and yuba and nutrient-dense, artisan, whole-ingredient meat- and egg-alternatives. But Founder & CEO Minh Tsai, once a refugee from Vietnam, never expected he’d be running such an innovative company. Minh simply decided to make delicious foods he grew up eating in Vietnam, but found elusive in the US. He started with one farmers market stand in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA almost 20 years ago.
Today, Hodo specialities appear on ingredient-driven menus nationwide from Chipotle (the Sofritas), sweetgreen, corporate campus restaurants from Google to Facebook, to Michelin-starred restaurants such as Daniel and Single Thread.
