Meriterese Racanelli, M.S.R&D Food Scientist and Nutritionist has over 20 years as a renowned expert and international speaker on food, nutrition, nutrigenetics, food science, botanicals, and their effect on the body, health and diseases. Besides her Master’s of Science degrees in Nutrition and Food Science, Suma Cum Laude from Montclair State University, Meriterese also completed her Clinical Dietetics and Medical Nutrition Therapy training Magna Cum Laude from MSU, via New Jersey hospitals, and majored in pre-med/biology in her under-grad degree. Her studies also include the National Institutes of Health Nutrition and Cancer Research, Nutrigenomics program; the national certification in Child & Adolescent Weight Management from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, completed formal university Chef training and other certifications. She’s taught at schools, universities, health departments, hospitals and physician grand–rounds. Her multi-cultural kids nutrition and fitness programs have received awards, been on TV and partnered with Radio Disney and Nickelodeon. As a health professional, Meriterese has provided services to physicians, nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, hospitals, health organizations, celebrities, athletes, media and consumers from various countries. She works with a clinical research firm that conducts FDA supervised investigatory medical studies and she’s authored books, celebrity’s cookbooks, nutrition & menu plans, newspaper and magazine articles, and educational materials printed in various languages. She’s been a guest speaker around the world and has spoken at the United Nations International Young Health Professionals Conference, the National Hispanic Medical Association, the United States Government Scientific Symposium, the USDA Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion ; the International Conference on Culinary Arts and Sciences, and many, many others. She works with Goya Foods internationally, guiding their various departments on government guidelines & health initiatives; research; analysis; nutrition & food sciences; healthier cultural recipe development; product development; WIC; MyPlate campaigns; wellness; community outreach; school nutrition; allergens; ingredient and nutrient impact on health; and more. She created the Goya “Better For You” products line and leads partnerships with many organizations such as: national and state health agencies, health departments, health insurance companies and consulates; sports & fitness organizations; U.S. Rice Federation; U.S. Bodega Association; U.S. hospitals like Lennox Hill/ Northwell,JC Medical Centers etc. She’s a guest expert featured on various TV stations including NBC; ABC; CBS; Univision; FOX and in cooking tutorials and consumer education videos. Meriterese’s background includes a successful consulting career spanning over 15+years working with many Celebrities, such as Tony Little, Richard Simmons, Denise Austin, Frankie Avalon, Soap Opera actors, WWF, NHL, and other professional athletes; TV Networks like HSN & QVC; supermarket chains; and research & development for manufacturers of foods, beverages, nutraceuticals and botanicals.
